Kilbane first came to national prominence on You;re a Star in 2004. Choosing an independent path, he has since released a substantial body of work through his own label, Gold Eagle Music. Albums such as Gravel &; Grace and Life’s Miracle highlight his connection to Nashville production and Irish musical identity, blending original material with carefully selected songs that reflect his style, faith, and storytelling approach. Working as both artist and producer, Kilbane is closely involved in shaping his recordings from initial concept through to final production. His catalogue continues to form the foundation of a growing international audience across both traditional and digital platforms. Across his recording career, Kilbane has worked closely with a small circle of highly respected musicians and producers, including John Flatley, James Blennerhassett, and long-time collaborator and producer Gavin Murphy, whose work over nearly two decades has helped shape the sound and direction of his music.
In recent years, Kilbane has expanded strongly into television and global faith broadcasting, bringing his music to new audiences worldwide. His series Rewind With James Kilbane, produced for Shalom World, features 13 episodes now available internationally on the network’s platform. He has also contributed to programming with EWTN and regional television channels in the United States. Alongside this, Kilbane has worked closely with Sean Molloy and Blue Flag Media to develop a growing portfolio of music video and broadcast productions, designed for both television and global streaming audiences.
His wider television work includes collaborations with RTÉ and Revelation TV, as well as the production and presentation of 28 one-hour music programmes for Keltic Country TV—firmly establishing his presence as both a performer and presenter in broadcast media.
Earlier milestones remain central to his journey. The release of Gravel & Grace followed a unique invitation to perform in a correctional facility in Ohio during St. Patrick’s Week, reflecting his belief in bringing music to places where it can have meaning and impact. His collaborations with Veritas Publications produced notable collections including The Songs of Faith Collection and The Family Collection, alongside concept-driven recordings such as River of Grace and Mary: The Lord’s Servant, developed in collaboration with Rev. Dr. Ken Newall.
Known for his independent mindset, Kilbane was described by Grand Ole Opry legend George Hamilton IV as “The Lone Ranger of country music.” That independence continues to define his career—allowing him to move freely between music, media, and live performance while maintaining full creative control, carried with a modest and grounded approach that has remained central to his journey.
Beyond music, Kilbane holds an honours degree in Heritage and Culture and has contributed to Irish cultural research and tourism development. His work in this area reflects a strong connection to place, tradition, and community—values that remain central to both his music and wider projects.
Today, James Kilbane continues to develop new recordings, video releases, and broadcast projects, with a particular focus on releasing singles accompanied by video content, alongside revisiting and reimagining selections from his back catalogue. With new
collaborations and projects in development, his work continues to grow across global platforms.
Rooted in faith, family, and a lifelong commitment to his craft, his ongoing aim is simple—to continue this work in a modest and meaningful way, helping to share and carry the message of the Christian faith through music to audiences around the world.
